Who doesn't love receiving a handwritten letter? It's like a little surprise gift. To know someone intentionally took the time. They chose a nice piece of stationery - note card, thank you card, or monogrammed note paper and slowed down for a moment to write a piece of thoughtful correspondence. It definitely connects you on a more personal level.
Email is certainly more accessible and convenient. But how many of us get both personal and work related emails to the same account? Emails get treated the same way, no matter who they come from. You decide whether it warrants a reply and if so, do it in a timely fashion and then in most cases it will get deleted...or archived, probably never to be read again.
As time goes by, and our lives get busier our friends are farther apart - across the city, province country or the globe, it's appreciated and a keepsake to receive a note in the mail.
Currently at Inkwell, we're focusing on the many items available for you to stay in touch with close friends and family. Some things can even be used for carrying with you to write a note to yourself!
